Information about the Villages of Thessaly, in Greece but also information about villages in many locations of the region: Thessaly is the region between Macedonia and Sterea (central Greece). A region with various landscapes, both mountainous and flat, Thessaly has few interesting villages to visit.
The peninsula of Pelion has the most beautiful Thessaly villages. Makrinitsa, Portaria, and Tsagarada are the most famous mountainous villages in Thessaly, while all along the interior and exterior coastline of the peninsula, there are lovely seaside villages that get very busy in summer.
Very beautiful are also the Thessaly villages of Meteora in Thessaly, particularly Kalambaka and Kastraki. Constructed on the foot of the giant rocks, the villages of Meteora get popular all year round for their tourist facilities.
As Thessaly is mostly a flat region with large plains, many other villages are found scattered here and there in the plains. The inhabitants in these villages, which keep their traditional character, live mostly from agriculture.
