Dedicated to the patron saint of Skopelos, the Monastery of Agios Reginos is a beautiful small monastery located less than 4 kilometers from Skopelos Town. Though its original construction date is uncertain, its present form is the result of two successive restoration phases, the first of which took place in the early 18th century and the second in 1960.

Saint Reginos lived in the 4th century AD, and was bishop of Skopelos. However, during the reign of Emperor Julian, he was tortured and put to death following his refusal to renounce the Christian faith. The monastery is of great significance to the people of Skopelos, as it is the place where the saint is buried. It celebrates on the 24th and the 25th of February, attracting visitors not only from Skopelos, but also from mainland Greece and the neighboring islands of Skiathos and Alonissos.
