General information

The main beach of Skopelos Town lies right next to the ferry quay, which means that several tourist facilities, including accommodation options, taverns and nightlife venues can be found along the seafront. Though it is a great place for a walk, the beach itself does not look very appealing, as there may be some pollution depending on the wind's direction due to its proximity to the port. In addition, the fact that it is strewn with pebbles of all sizes can be a problem unless you come prepared with a pair of water shoes.

Part of the town beach is organized with umbrellas and sunbeds, though there is still plenty of room for visitors to lay down their own equipment. Overall, it is a decent choice for a quick dip into the sea before you leave the island (or as soon as you arrive) if you don’t have the time to go to any of the island’s much better beaches. Another reason to visit is the ruins of the Asclepieion of Ancient Peparethos, which lie just 200 meters east of the port.
