Skopelos Kastani beach

With its magnificent views of Skiathos and the scenic Dasia islet, Kastani ranks amongst the loveliest beaches in Skopelos. Having skyrocketed to fame as the shooting location of several scenes of the immensely popular Mamma Mia musical, it boasts crystalline turquoise waters and fine golden sand that make it perfect for a carefree day by the sea. The luxuriant pine forest hugging the shore also adds to its outstanding beauty, while the southern side of the beach is particularly suitable for enjoying some natural shade.

What is more, Kastani is well-organized with umbrellas, sunbeds and a beach bar catering to bathers’ needs. To reach it, you can travel either by bus or by car, driving along a short and relatively smooth dirt track that branches off the main road towards the end of the route. If you choose to come by boat instead, don’t miss the chance to explore the tiny secluded beaches that lie north of Kastani, which can be approached only by sea and are ideal for escaping the large crowds of visitors.
