General information

Agios Ioannis beach Skopelos: Agios Ioannis is one of the most picturesque locations in Skopelos. Its crystal waters and the natural beauty are some of the features that characterize this region, which is found 30 km north west of Skopelos town and 8 km from Glossa village.

Like most of the beaches on the island, Agios Ioannis beach is gifted with turquoise waters and a majestic landscape. Usually, it doesn't get very crowded and has no tourist facilities around. There is the church of Agios Ioannis perched high on the rocks overlooking the small cove and pffering a breathtaking view to the coasts of Skopelos and Alonissos.

The church and the beach of Agios Ioannis have become world wide famous after the American movie Mamma Mia. If you want to visit the monastery you need to climb 105 steps.

Was nice

I have never been there before, but I would like to go see it. Have seen it in the movie Mama Mia! I like what I seen in the movie. Seems to have nice view from the top and very neat of older setting to the church. Financially I have not been able to go far in personal time, holiday or vacation time. Usually stay home with family doing what needs to be done or helping out family and friends. Someday I hope to see that church and other locations around the world and in my own country.
