Location: Town

The Church of Agios Nikolaos, constructed in the 1950s, lies atop a small hill that overlooks the scenic town and its picturesque port. The church is distinguished by its white exterior and roof tiles. The defining feature of Agios Nikolaos is its imposing clock tower, which is visible from many areas of the town and has made the church a major tourist attraction.

The church houses a beautiful wooden iconostasis and a collection of religious icons and sacred relics. Of note is the icon of Panagia Megalomata, which was transferred from the Church of Prekla in Kastro. Visitors can light a candle in memory of Agios Nikolaos (Saint Nicholas), the patron saint of sailors, and then spend some moments of relaxation in the church courtyard. There, they can enjoy unparalleled panoramic views of Skiathos Town amidst a tranquil environment away from the hustle and bustle of the town center.
