Skiathos Kastro beach

General information

Kastro Beach lies on the northernmost point of Skiathos, about 8.5 km northwest of Skiathos Town. It is located on the foot of a hill, just below the medieval town of Kastro. The town stands today as a vestige of the island’s past, hosting old ruins and dilapidated houses. The beach itself features a serene atmosphere amidst a beautiful rocky landscape. Its waters are crystal blue and its shore has sand with a few grey pebbles.

The beach does not boast amenities such as sunbeds or parasols, so guests planning on sunbathing should bring towels to lie on. There is, however, a restaurant overlooking the beach that offers some nice shady spots to rest under and enjoy a refreshing drink along with an assortment of authentic Mediterranean dishes. The view of the beach and the surrounding mountains is also impeccable. The entire area is characterized by its unique combination of natural beauty and historical landmarks, making this one of the most charming destinations on the island.

Those looking to visit Kastro Beach can do so by car, with a paved road leading to a small parking area. From there, the beach is only about 300 meters away, with a small path taking you directly to its shore. Alternatively, you can take a boat ride straight to the beach, with small boats departing from the old port of Skiathos.
