The Church of Agioi Anargyroi is located on the western coast of Alonissos, about 5 km north of Patitiri. This beautiful Byzantine church dates to the 13th century and underwent major renovations after the devastating earthquake of 1965. It has a rustic stone exterior with grey tiling and houses some lovely icons.
The church lies in a small courtyard surrounded by a lush pine forest. Perched upon a rocky cliff, it offers breathtaking views of the shimmering Aegean waters. Visitors can take in the wonderful views and enjoy the quiet ambiance in this highly secluded spot. A second, much newer church also lies in the courtyard and stands out for its whitewashed walls and red roof.
As it is located in the heart of a forest, reaching the church by car is not an option. Instead, visitors can park their vehicle just outside the forest, and then follow a narrow dirt path to the church.
