General information

About 6 km northeast of Patitiri lies the wonderful beach of Chrisi Milia. Blessed with golden sand and crystal blue waters, this is one of the most picturesque beaches on the island. The waters are relatively shallow and ideal for swimming, making this the perfect destination for families with younger kids. Lucky visitors may also get to catch a glimpse of the beautiful monk seal, as it warms up in the sun before returning to the sea.

The surrounding landscape of Chrisi Milia presents green hills and rugged cliffs that hug the coast and protect the waters from strong winds. The beach is well-organized, offering visitors a collection of sunbeds and umbrellas to rent. After a relaxing swim beach-goers can visit the restaurant found on the western end of the beach and enjoy delicious Greek dishes and refreshing drinks. A few accommodation options are also available nearby.

Chrisi Milia is easily accessible by any vehicle and the drive from Patitiri lasts around 12 minutes. Along the way, you can stop at the equally stunning Milia Beach.

Sandy and safe for the kids

The beach of Chrisi Milia is just lovely. Extremely clean water and great for snorkelling. It was also very safe for my kids because the seafloor was too sandy and their feet didn't get hurt from the rocks, as in other beaches of Alonissos. Chrisi Milia had some sun beds, but you have to go early to catch one, because the visitors of the nearby hotels were many. For me, it was the best beach of Alonissos.
