General information

Dapia is located in the heart of Spetses Town. It is the new port of the island, as well as its latest settlement.
All the business constructions in that district are painted in white and blue, a symbol of the maritime culture of Spetses. A flat wave breaker fortifies the district and protects it from the winds and the wild sea.

The main road is a cobblestone coastal road delimited by two churches, one standing on each side of it. There is a square located in the middle of the road, and it is the place where, in the 1820s, the island's seafaring leaders met to organize their revolt against the Ottoman Turks.

Furthermore, the area is where most of the cafes are gathered. Plateia Roloyiou (Clock Square) lies on the eastern side of Dapia and is the place hosting most tourist shops, restaurants, and snack bars. On the other side of the district sits another square, which is quite small yet recognizable from the bust of Bouboulina standing in the center.

Dapia is home to the Spetses Museum and the Bouboulina Museum, too. The beautiful Anargyros Mansion is also worth seeing, as it is one of the finest examples of early 20th-century architecture and a pure neoclassical marvel.
