Location: Town

Built in 1793, the imposing church of Agia Triada (Holy Trinity) stands opposite that of Taxiarches, in the area of Kasteli, and it was the biggest place of worship on the island till the building of the church of the Three Martyrs from Spetses.

It stands out because of the masterfully crafted intricate carvings on its wooden altarpiece, representing scenes from the Old Testament, as well as animals, trees, flowers and other natural themes. The pulpit, the bishop’s throne, and the Epitaphios are also made of ornately chiseled wood. Though there are no frescoes, the plaster decorations are elaborate, and the old portable icons bear traces of Renaissance influences. The courtyard also boasts impressive architecture, having striking paving, while the belfry is unusual in that it has only one bell, hanging in the center of three arches.

The annual celebration of Agia Triada is on a movable date.
