Agistri Aponissos beach

General information

The islet of Aponissos is connected to the southwestern part of Agistri via a small bridge. One of the best things to do while in Agistri is to visit the gorgeous Aponissos Beach, which lies on the coast of Agistri, opposite the islet. Situated about 2 km from the nearby village of Limenaria, this is one of the most beloved swimming spots on the island and sees plenty of visitors during the summer.

Aponissos Beach boasts enchanting, crystal-clear waters that are bordered by a rocky and sandy coast. Its surroundings present visitors with lush greenery and beautiful mountains. The views of Aponissos Iselt are also impeccable.

The beach is organized, offering some sunbeds and umbrellas for rent, yet one can lay a towel on the lower rocks of the forest. A traditional tavern is found south of the beach, serving Mediterranean food, coffee, and refreshing drinks.

To reach the beach, you can take the bus from Skala or Megalochori. Renting a bike is always a good option to appreciate the beautiful landscapes along the way. Just behind Aponissos Beach, you will find a salt lake known as Lekani Lake, a popular destination for nature and trekking enthusiasts.
