Saint Valentine may generally be considered the patron saint of couples and lovers, but, for Orthodox Greeks, his counterparts are the Saints Aquilla and Priscilla. Aquilla was a Jew from the region of Pontos in Asia Minor, while Priscilla was of Roman descent. They met in Rome, where they had to flee because Emperor Claudius persecuted Jews.
