Renovated in 2019, the residence constituted the house of renowned Greek painter and sculptor Nikolaos Nikolaou, who settled in Aegina in 1964. The home became a meeting point for famous artists and intellectuals of the time, including Nikolaou’s friends, visual artist Yiannis Moralis and Nobel-winning poet Odysseas Elytis, among others. The painter's family wished to retain the atmosphere and history of the residence, so many artworks and items have been restored to their original spots. The studios have a traditional stone exterior, adding to the folklore element, but are equipped with all the modern amenities. It is the ideal place to enjoy a relaxing vacation surrounded by rich nature full of olive trees and the fascinating history of modern Greek art. In addition, it is very close to the beach, accessible on foot.
Accommodation Nikolaou Residence offers five studios accommodating two to four people. Each one has a unique name inspired by the flora present in the beautiful garden: Elia (olive), Rhodi (pomegranate), Fistiki (pistachio), Levanta (lavender) and Luisa. Their kitchenettes are equipped with the necessary appliances, such as a stovetop and a refrigerator as well as kitchenware for cooking. Some suits offer private furnished terraces that provide magnificent sea and mountain views, while all of them have access to the residence garden. Other amenities include wi-fi, satellite TV, air-conditioning and first-aid kits.
