Aegina Airport

There is no airport on Aegina Island. The nearest airport is the International Airport of Athens, which receives domestic flights from numerous regions in Greece as well as plentiful international flights from cities all around the world.

The only way to go from Athens to Aegina is via ferry, All ferries depart from the port of Piraeus. Several ferries to Aegina depart from Piraeus every day, exceeding 10 itineraries per day during the summer season. The duration of the crossing is approximately an hour, with slight time variations depending on which of the three ports of the island you have selected for disembarking.
You can schedule your transfer from the airport to Piraeus in advance. Alternatively, you can check out our Athens Metro Map and see how to get to Piraeus via different means of transportation.

Ferries connect Aegina with other islands, too, and, more specifically, with Agistri and Poros. At the same time, Aegina is connected with Methana, an enticing coastal town in the Peloponnese, so travelers can also reach the island by taking a ferry from there.
