Porto Heli is a lovely seaside town on the northeastern side of Peloponnese. It belongs to the prefecture of Argolida and it is geographically located on the mainland coast right opposite the island of Spetses. Porto Heli is built amphitheatrically along some hills that surround a small port. This port town with a long history is filled with fishing boats and yachts in summer, creating a cosmopolitan atmosphere.
The village is small and architecture is modern. Around Porto Heli, there are many beaches with crystal water and soft sand. There are also fine tiny coves surrounded by the lush greenery of pine trees, fruit trees, and some olive groves. These coves are usually remote and visitors can enjoy some privacy there.
The geography of Porto Heli combines characteristics from many areas of Peloponnese. Close to Porto Heli, there is the sea lake Ververonda, where water skiing championships are held every summer. The locals believe that the water of this lake is therapeutic from dermatic and other diseases. The landscape of Porto Heli is mostly flat but has nice small pine forests.
