Patra Old Town

General information

Old Town (Ano Poli) in Patra Greece: Patra is actually divided in two parts: Ano and Kato Poli. Kato Poli (Lower Town) is the centre of Patra and mainly concentrates around the square of King George, from the square of Psilalonia till the port. Ano Poli is in fact the Old Town which surrounds the Medieval Castle and still keeps its traditional architecture.

The differences between Ano and Kato Poli are evident in architecture. In Ano Poli, there are no modern block of flats but traditional stone houses with yards. As Ano Poli is located around the Castle, the highest point of the town, it offers gorgeous views to Patra, the port and the surrounding area.
