Mystras Local products

Mystras, and the area of Laconia, in general, is famous for its products. In Neos Mystras, the village a few meters from the castle, you can find some small shops there selling local products. The most famous local product is the high-quality virgin olive oil, produced in the large olive plains on the region. The area of Mystras also produces delicious honey.

Laconia, in general, is famous for its citrus trees, figs, and tomatoes as well as for the production of alcoholic beverages, like wine, ouzo, and tsipouro. In Mani, you can try ham and in Sparta you can taste xoriatiko loukaniko, a type of sausage. Take also into account that feta cheese made from local milk is produced in the village of Karavas.
