Exhibition about Salt in Folklore Museum

An exhibition about the significance of Salt will be held in Kyparissia this summer. Till August 9th, visitors will have the chance to see several art works and objects inspired by salt. This innovative exhibition, entitled Salt, the White Treasure will be held as the initiative of the non-profitable company that aims to protect and character of the Old Town of Kyparissia.
This exhibition was previously held with great success in the town of Mesolongi at Diexodos Centre of Culture and Art, visited by 8,500 people. Among the topics discussed is salt across the universe and Greece, the methods of production, its contribution to the planet and its global impact on art, economy, environment and civilization.
Salts in every color, machines and traditional tools, salt constructions, historical photos and documents as well as a great collection of paintings that date back from the 19th century until the present day are some of the exhibits available to the public. The inauguration will take place at the Folklore Museum "Kostis Palamas" in the square of the Old Town of Kyparissia till August 9th, 2011.
The exhibition was inaugurated on Saturday evening and it will be open every day till August 9th. The entrance is free.
