This week’s selected photo has been uploaded by Greeka.com member milko and captures the dazzling colors in the picturesque Karaiskaki street, in the old-school Athenian neighborhood of Psiri. One of the most visited areas of the city’s center, Psiri is preferred for its upbeat and original atmosphere, scenic alleys and traditional architecture. While it used to have a suspicious reputation in the past -due to being a rather poor district of the city- the last decade this authentic corner has been transformed with many bars, restaurants and shops opening. Upon visiting the area, you can enjoy delicious desserts in the central square, indulge into loads of ouzo and traditional meze in hidden yards or sip on a refreshing beer at some hip bar – or you can simple stroll through the amazing backstreets and admire the impressive street art. If you are planning to visit Athens, this must definitely be on your to-do list!
