A three-day international festival dedicated to the acoustic guitar will be held in Athens, at the Fakanas Conservatory on April 3-5. The first such event in Athens, the festival will feature concerts and workshops by three leading musicians in the field: French Pierre Bensusan, and the British Michael Watts and Jon Gomm. Watts, who is also the festival's artistic director points out that "the festival is for everybody who loves music, whether they play an instrument or not."
The 30-year-old composer/musician started training in electric guitar, jazz, blues and rock before the acoustic guitar won him over, and he makes use of multiple tunings, advanced finger- style techniques and looping technology.
