General information

Louloudadika is a charming spot in the heart of Thessaloniki, about 400 meters from the Waterfront. The name of the area, which translates to flower shops, originates from the many such shops that were situated there during the 1950s. This was the direct result of an agreement between the Florist Association and the Minister of Northern Greece that allowed them to place outlets in the neighborhood. A total of eleven flower shops opened, which would prosper in the area until the early 1990s.

Only five of the flower shops have made it to this day, embellishing the neighborhood with colorful flowers and gifting it a fragrant aroma. Opposite the shops, the imposing Yahudi Hamam, or Jewish Baths, stands tall. This Ottoman-era bathhouse dates around the 15th to 16th centuries and features a stone and brick exterior, separate sections for men and women, and rich decorations. The baths were restored in the 1990s, as part of an effort to renovate the historical center of Thessaloniki.

Some lovely restaurants and charming cafes can be found in the area around Louloudadika. There are also some grocery and convenience stores, while near the flower shops lies the Agora Modiano food market, the biggest and most popular market in the city.
