  • Where is the ferry port in Thessaloniki?

The ferry port lies a couple of kilometers from the city center of Thessaloniki and is close to all the major sights and tourist facilities.

  • How can I get from the port to the beaches?

As the beaches are located a little outside the city, traveling by car is the fastest and most convenient way of getting there from the port. However, it is also possible to reach them by bus from the city center of Thessaloniki.

  • How do I get from the airport to the port?

The most budget-friendly way of getting from the airport to the port is to take the bus. First, you will need to get a bus to Aristotelous Square in the city center, and from there you will have to take another line to get to the port. Alternatively, you can arrange a private transfer, but you need to bear in mind that the distance (around 19 km) will accordingly affect the cost.

  • What is better: flying or taking the ferry to Thessaloniki?

The ferry is the only way of traveling between Thessaloniki and the Sporades during the summer months. Also, Thessaloniki has an international airport receiving direct flights from Athens, Heraklion, Rhodes, and Lesvos, as well as from several European cities. During summer, additional itineraries are available from abroad, so flying directly to Thessaloniki will be the most time-saving option. However, if you are departing from Athens and need to take your vehicle but do not wish to drive all the way to Thessaloniki, traveling by ferry might be a good idea.
