ollimpius 02 Oct 2007You will remember your childhoodThe trip to Halkidiki was very good, although some parts of the highway around Tessaloniki were under construction. In Polychrono the attractions were only a few. Polyhrono is a quiet country-side village. The water was perfect (warm and crystal clear), the beach was pretty good (not very clean, but Ok!), the night life was poor (just tavernas!), a karting place, a disco and, far away on the road to Thessaloniki, a Water Park (Water Land). No monuments, no ruins, nothing. No pools, no sport grounds, nothing.
The food was excellent! Clean and healthy (nobody got sick). A various sort of meals including meat, fish and pasta. We were particulary impressed by the excellent Restaurant Moustakas. It deserves a 10 mark! Taverns were Ok! Very different and very interesting. The little shops (boutique style) were lovely too.
The best beach we went to was in front of Viva restaurant, we loved the area around Brits Bar and had a nice time at the Tropical Bar. We feel alright walking in the evening in the village center, onto the square near the church. I have a couple of observations for the authorities to take into account:1. Create more parking places, we lost a lot of time searching for a
parking place there! 2. Improve a rent-a-bike system (eventually two bicycles linked)! 3. Build many sport grounds and pools! Finally, a recommendation to the future visitors: Go there! It's a pretty nice and quiet place! You will remember your childhood in the country-side, if you had one.
