General information

Named after a tiny whitewashed chapel that stands above the shore, Zakynthos' Agios Nikolaos Beach is located on the southeastern part of the island, around 32 km away from Zakynthos Town!

It is one of the most popular beaches on the island, and the area is full of facilities, including places to stay, taverns, restaurants, bars, and watersport centers! The sandy seashore and clear turquoise waters make the beach of Agios Nikolaos suitable for families with small children, but at the same time, it is also frequented by young people!

For the most part, it is well organized, boasting sunbeds and sun umbrellas for rent, while you will also find a few quiet, non-organized spots. The beach can easily be approached by car, whilst the same road will take you to the small photogenic chapel that overlooks the sea!

    Like a zoo for free animals
    A fabulous place that my kids loved! It was like a zoo, only animals are living free and not inside cages, like museum exhibits. Animals should be like that, free in nature. People have made homes though, like stables for the horses and stone nests for the birds, which is very cute. We could walk for hours there, it is an amazing large park with green paths and running water. We loved the goats, the raccoons, the deer, the ponies. I have fabulous photos of my daughter running after a rabbit! So precious moments!

    Dive from the boat
    Lovely place that can be visited only by boat. Actually the boat that goes to Navagio Beach passes through the Blue Caves. It makes a short stop and people dive from the boat to the crystal water. Very wild and adorable landscape that should not be missed from your trip to Zakynthos. The caves and Navagio are the two most photographed places of the island.
