Mathraki is the smallest of the Ionian islands, part of Diapontia islands (along with Othoni and Ereikoussa), a group that consists of 11 small islands, most of which are still uninhabited. Mathraki is characterized by its virgin landscape and lies only three nautical miles from Corfu, therefore it has a great tourist activity during the summer. Both settlements, the capital Chorio and Plakes which is the port are quite traditional. Mathraki is famous for its idyllic scenery and some of the finest isolated beaches in Greece. Among them are Portello, Apidies, Arvanitiko, and Fyki.
This section proposes a map of Mathraki with all the major locations of the island.
