The Chapel of Agios (Saint) Nikon, similar to Agia Elesa, is one of the churches in Kythira dedicated to not-very-known saints with rare names.
It is a tiny church in the settlement of Zaglanikianika, located just a few meters away from the main road to Potamos.
What makes this very small building so interesting is its architecture; Saint Nikon is a one-roomed arched church with a dome showcasing the Kythiraean style, which can only be encountered on the island.
Inside, visitors can see Byzantine frescoes dating back to the 11th and 13th centuries AD.
