The weather of Kefalonia showcases the features of the very pleasant Mediterranean climate. The summer is warm and the winter is mild, yet each season has distinct phenomena. The best time to visit the island is from June to September; the temperatures are high, the sunshine lasts several hours and rain is almost non-existent. However, if you want to go on excursions, May and early October are preferable so that you can avoid the heat. Summer and early fall are the ideal periods for swimming, as the waters are at their warmest.
