General information

Dexa Beach Ithaca: Dexa beach is only 2 km far from Vathy, the capital of Ithaca. It is situated on the right side of the port, north of the island. The beach offers natural shaded areas for a relaxing sunbathing and is pretty unique for its blue and transparent waters ideal for both swimming and diving.

The beach hosts only a few facilities and closeby there is a beach bar serving cold drinks. You don't need to carry many of your own facilities, trees provide a nice protection from the warm sun. It is one of the best swimming spots close to the town. According to The Odyssey, Dexa is the site where Odysseus stopped after returning to Ithaca from the Trojan War.

The best on Ithaca

The best beach on Ithaca!! Very green and very clean!! When we went there, it was not very crowded so we liked it better. If you have a car, you may face a problem with parking, so you would better go by scooter. Also take flippers with you because the seafloor is rocky and you may hurt your feet.
