General information

Dilofo is a mountainous village that belongs to the complex of Zagorochoria. It was first inhabited by Slavs in the 6th century and its former name was “Sopetseli” or “Sompotseli”.

This settlement is considered to be a typical example of Zagorian architecture and one of the most well-preserved villages of Zagorochoria. Old buildings are strictly restored and reconstructed only with local elements on the same architectural style. Moreover, using a car in this village is banned, so that its traditional character is preserved as much as possible.
