Location: Kapesovo Don't miss: Museums guide (free admission dates and other useful info)
Paschaleios School in Zagoria: Paschaleios School is located in Kapesovo, a lovely village that flourished during the period of Turkish domination. Built in 1861 by the Paschaleios brothers, this school building is located at the center of the village.
In the 18th and 19th century, affluent residents of the village adorned the school's library with some of the rarest intellectual treasures brought back from their travels around Europe. The former school building has been preserved and has been converted into a folk art museum that houses many cultural treasures.
Among these treasures, there is a copy of the works of Rigas Fereos, a poet and national hero of the Greek War of Independence of 1821, a rare dictionary of eleven languages, some valuable manuscripts, and other ethnographic items. The museum also plays host to special cultural events.
