Thassos Maries

General information

Maries village Thassos: Built during the Middle Ages, Maries is one of the oldest and most beautiful villages of Thassos. Standing on a gorge in the central-western part of Thassos, at a high altitude, Maries offers a superb panoramic view. It lies 42 km south west of Limenas Thassos.

The houses of the village have been built close to each other and have some fine examples of traditional architecture such as their particular balconies and their carved ceilings. A few taverns, cafes and rooms for rent are available at the mountainous village of Maries.
