Lesvos Paleochori

General information

Paleochori village Lesvos: One of the oldest in Lesvos built amphitheatrically on the slopes of a hill. Paleochori is located 51 km southwest of Mytilene, the island's capital. Its fabulous location offers some stunning view to the verdant landscape and the sea. Paleochori has only a few residents who deal mostly with agriculture and farming. The houses are very close to each other built according to the fortress architecture. All houses display vivid colors and beautiful gardens.

In short distance from the village, you will find Melinda, a beautiful coastal settlement with golden sand rocky landscape. The church of Evagelistria and the Ecclesiastical Museum are the main attractions of Paleochori including paintings, icons and other ecclesiastical relics. Traditional taverns and cafes are found in the area of Paleochori.
