Orange farm trip and tasting and citrus museum visit

General Description

Our meeting spot for this 3-hour experience is right outside the Citrus Museum of Kampos, where we will begin our journey by circling the area of Kampos and getting ourselves informed about the citrus fruits of Chios. After a brief walk around the estate, we will enter the museum, housed inside a traditional mansion boasting a verdant garden and a cafeteria.

There, we will have the chance to learn about the importance of citrus farms in Chios, the local ways of life throughout the centuries, and (optionally) taste Greek coffee! Our next activity will be walking around a citrus orchard, where an experienced farmer will teach us the orchard’s history, additional information about the mandarin varieties, and valuable tips about cultivation and tree maintenance.

Following that, we will stroll among the citrus trees and pick some oranges and mandarins, enough for a snack and a refreshing drink afterward! Wrapping up the visit to the Citrus Museum, you will have the opportunity to taste delicious local products, including liquor drinks, homemade jams, orange juice, fresh mandarins, and orange-based sweets.
