General information

Skafi Beach, located in the northern part of Tilos, is a hidden treasure for those seeking tranquility and a deep connection with nature. It offers a serene escape where the untouched beauty of the Aegean takes center stage. The beach is a mix of sand and pebbles, stretching along a pristine coastline that feels like a private paradise. Its remote location and challenging accessibility make it ideal for travelers looking to disconnect from the chaos of modern life.

Visitors can opt for a water taxi or rental boat from the main port of Livadia.
For the more adventurous visitors, a scenic 45-minute hike from Megalo Chorio leads directly to the beach. The trail starts as a dirt road before narrowing into a rocky path, offering landscape views along the way. Along the trail, nature lovers may encounter birdlife, including species like bee-eaters and woodchat shrikes. The surrounding cliffs add to the dramatic beauty of the area, making the journey as rewarding as the destination itself.
For those with less time or energy, driving part of the route with a scooter or car can significantly shorten the trek.

Once at the beach, the simplicity of the setting is striking. There are no sunbeds, umbrellas, or tavernas here, just the sound of waves and the soft rustle of the leaves. Visitors should come prepared with their own supplies, including water, snacks, and sun protection, as there is no natural shade.
