How to get to Simi?

There is a ferry connection between Simi and Athens, as ferries depart from Piraeus port about 3 times a week. However, the trip is quite long and it lasts approximately 20 hours. If you are traveling from Athens to Simi, then it might be more convenient for you to reach Rhodes by plane within a one-hour trip and then travel to Simi by ferry from Rhodes.
In any case, Simi is also connected by ferry with Kalymnos, Patmos, Leros and Tilos.

There is no airport on the small island of Simi. The closest one is located in Rhodes. Rhodes International Airport "Diagoras" is among the four busiest airports in Greece. It receives domestic flights from Athens, Thessaloniki and other locations, while in summer it receives flights from many countries around Europe, too. The flight time from Athens to Rhodes is estimated at around 50 minutes.
From Rhodes, you can easily reach Simi by ferry. The trip lasts about one hour and the itineraries are almost daily. Upon your arrival on the island, it is a good idea to take a taxi for your transfer to the port, since the airport is located about 16 km away from Rhodes Town.
