The Temple of Apollo Erethimios is a historically significant archeological site located in the Rhodian village of Theologos. At one time a place of worship for Apollo, people gathered there to pray to the Greek God so he would protect the area’s agriculture. Today, the site lies mostly in ruins but is still worth the visit for those passing by the charming village.

Visitors of the Temple will be able to see a collection of archaeological trenches, revealing a crepidoma (a platform of usually three levels upon which the superstructure of the building is erected, typically forming a series of steps). You will also find the ruins of various other buildings, some constructed in sandstone. Marble fragments adorned with lotus flowers and water spouts that once belonged to the temple are now housed in the Rhodes Archaeological Museum. Present on the site are also some signs that mention information on the temple’s history along with some visualizations.
