Location: Town

The impeccably landscaped Rodini Park is renowned for its cool and tranquil atmosphere. This beautiful park is ideally located on the outskirts of Rhodes Town, a mere 3 km from the city center. It has been arranged along a swift-flowing stream and is replete with trees like cypress and pine.

Rodini has the unique distinction of being the world's first landscaped park. This park was very popular with the Romans and they even built an aqueduct here. During the rule of the Knights of Saint John, the villa of the Grand Master was housed in Rodini Park. Inside its premises, there is a large population of peacocks, which are considered the park’s residents. A small zoo can also be found, where visitors can admire the native to the island deer Dama-Dama. For families with smaller kids, there is an exclusive playground for the young ones.

A 10-minute walk from the park is all it takes to be face-to-face with an ancient tomb believed to be the tomb of Ptolemies which has been dug into a rock. The tomb dates back to the Hellenistic period and features a stuccoed facade and 21 half columns that are distinctly Doric in terms of architecture.
