Location: Town

Agia Triada (Holy Trinity) is a medieval church that still dominates Nafsikas Square inside the confines of the Old Town of Rhodes. It follows the cross-in-square architectural type, which was the dominant form of middle- and late-Byzantine churches, and was probably constructed around the late 15th or early 16th century.

On the inside, the arms of the cross are topped by slightly pointed arches, in the middle of which rises an octagonal dome. The masonry comes from locally quarried sandstone and certain parts, like the apse and the dome, have been constructed with particular attention to detail. Unfortunately, only a few fragments of its remarkable frescoes have survived to this day, reflecting the eclectic character of Rhodian iconography in the 1500s.

During the period of Ottoman rule, the church was converted into a mosque, like many other churches on the island.
