General information

Navarone Beach is located on the eastern coast of the island, about 49 km south of Rhodes Town and 3 km from Lindos. This heavenly spot is famous for serving as the setting for the 1961 war film The Guns of Navarone, from which it got its name. It boasts a stretch of silky sand and mesmerizing, turquoise waters that invite visitors for a refreshing dip. The surrounding rocky hills and mountains make for an attractive scenery, adding to the natural charm of the area.

Plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas can be found on the northern end of the shore, however, they are only available for customers of their respective hotels. The rest of the beach remains unorganized, offering plenty of free space to lay your towel and relax near the sea. The wider region hosts some more accommodations but not many other tourist facilities. It is recommended that beach-goers come well-prepared with essentials such as food and water.

Access to Navarone Beach is fairly easy through a 7-minute long drive from the nearby settlement of Lindos. Those not traveling with a private vehicle can utilize the public bus system, with frequent buses making stops at the main road just behind the beach.
