On the right side, the beach is mostly strewn with pebbles and is well-organized, offering such beach facilities as umbrellas and sunbeds, as well as showers and toilets. The left part, on the other hand, is mostly sandy, with plenty of space for visitors who wish to enjoy the beach using their own equipment. Here, there are no big hotels, just rental rooms, and a few restaurants and cafes, where visitors can enjoy traditional seafood dishes, while soaking up the peaceful atmosphere.

On a hilltop near the beach stand the ruins of the Byzantine Feraklos Castle, which was the first fort to be conquered by the Knights of Saint John in 1306. Reinforced by the Grand Masters Giovanni Battista degli Orsini and Pierre d’Aubusson, it provided protection to the locals, and also served as a prison for pirates and anyone who broke the law. Little remains today, besides the remnants of its outer walls and two cylindrical towers.

Within a short distance, visitors will also find the picturesque Archangelos village, as well as other beaches with dreamy waters, rocks and caves, such as Kokkini Ammos and Agathi.
