General information

Vagia is a quiet, peaceful beach located in the northern area of Patmos, 10 km northeast of Chora and less than 1 km from the settlement of Kambos. It offers a small pebbly shore and crystalline waters. The waters here are said to be the coldest in all of Patmos, while their calmness makes them perfect for a refreshing swim.

The beach is not organized and does not feature sunbeds or umbrellas. Those seeking to relax by the sea can take advantage of the few trees along the coast, which offer some nice shady spots. The coast is also flanked by some beautiful rock formations, adding to the natural charm of the area. The untamed environment and serene ambiance create the ideal conditions for a tranquil day at the beach. This spot is particularly popular among families with younger children, however, it remains mostly undiscovered and rarely gets crowded.

Vagia is reachable by a small boat from the port of Skala. Alternatively, you can reach the beach by private vehicle which you can park on the road above the coast, or by bus to Kambos and then on foot for the rest of the way. The walk from Kambos is relatively easy and should take less than 15 minutes to complete. On the way down to the beach there is a small cafeteria in case you want to grab a bite or a drink.
