Patmos Grikos beach

General information

Grikos Beach lies in front of the lovely settlement of Grikos. Only a few steps separate the village from the beach, which is the main attraction of the area. It boasts a long sandy shore and crystal-blue waters. The sea is almost always calm as it is protected from strong winds by the neighboring islet of Tragonisi. Therefore, this is an ideal swimming destination, especially for families with smaller kids.

The beach features several facilities, including sun loungers and umbrellas for pleasant sunbathing in the shade. Alternatively, you can rest under the natural shade provided by tamarisk trees along the coast. A beach bar is located on the shore, serving refreshing drinks and delicious snacks that you can enjoy from the comfort of your rented sunbed. There is also a restaurant offering a fine dining experience, while the surrounding region hosts more eateries and many accommodations. For the thrill-seekers,  water sports facilities are available as well.

Access to Grikos Beach is easy, with the drive from Chora taking less than 10 minutes and a parking area close to the beach. Because of its popularity among tourists and locals alike, the beach tends to get crowded during peak summer months. If you can visit the beach in the less busy months of May and September, you will get to experience a much more serene environment where the only prevailing sound is that of the waves crashing into the shore.
