General information

Didimes Beach lies on the northern part of Patmos, about 12 km northeast of Chora and 3.5 km from the settlement of Kambos. The beach is composed of two small, almost identical coves located next to each other, hence the name Didimes, which means "twins" in Greek. Also known as Liginou Beach, this heavenly spot greets visitors with crystal blue waters and pebbles, as well as an untamed natural environment dominated by rock formations and verdant hills.

The area is well protected from the northern summer winds, making this an ideal destination for a leisurely swim. Those looking for a more relaxing sunbathing experience will not find sunbeds or umbrellas on the beach, as it remains unorganized. There are, however, a few tamarisk trees lining the shore, which create some natural shade to rest under. A few canteens can be found in proximity to the beach, where you can stop by to grab a refreshing drink or a snack.

Access to Didimes is relatively easy by private vehicle, with the drive from Chora taking about 25 minutes. Alternatively, you can take a bus, get off at the station in Kambos, and from there take a 35-minute walk to the beach. While in the area, you may want to explore some of its other scenic beaches, such as Vagia and Livadi Geranou. After a tranquil day of swimming and sunbathing, you can head back to Kambos, where you will find plenty of facilities, including restaurants, cafes, and accommodations.
