General information

Asomatos is a picturesque village lying on the slopes of Dikeos Mountain. It is located right next to the village of Asfendiou, 12 km southwest of Kos Town and just 1 km from Zia. Asomatos is one of the quietest settlements of Kos and remains untouched by tourism to this day.

Its traditional layout is a combination of whitewashed houses and narrow paved alleys which emit an old charm and tempt the visitors to wander around this small village. Asomatos is surrounded by a vast area of lush vegetation, olive groves, and vineyards. It also provides good hiking routes for nature lovers looking to explore the surrounding landscapes.

The 11th-century Church of Asomatos dominates the village, giving the area its name. The church stands out with its impressive bell tower and its interior is covered with beautiful frescoes. It is also worth visiting the Church of Evangelistria which stands at the center of the settlement.
