The Kefalos Folklore Museum is housed in a traditional residence in the town of Kefalos, around 40 kilometers southwest of Kos Town. Its main objective is to portray the rural life of the island’s inhabitants during the 18th century as accurately as possible.
Inside you will find a display of old photographs, agricultural tools, and farming machinery used throughout the centuries. The museum also includes a lot of traditional artifacts such as embroideries, intricate and stunning woven tapestries, silks, household utensils, and family heirlooms. What is more, the small, rustic cafe in the museum offers a selection of Greek delicacies and drinks. The museum welcomes visitors every day of the week.
