Karpathos Vananda beach

General information

Vananda Beach is located 51 km north of Pigadia and just 2.5 km from the charming Diafani. It is fairly secluded among a stunning natural landscape and boasts a pebbly shore and crystal blue waters. It is a suitable destination for those looking for a tranquil swim in a quiet environment, free from the hustle and bustle of busier beaches on the island.

The unadulterated natural charm is accentuated by a lack of any sort of facilities. Beach-goers are therefore advised to come prepared with all the essentials, including food and water. Some natural shade is provided by the trees present on the shore and there is a fountain with drinking water just behind the beach. Visitors can also make a stop at the nearby church of Agioi Anargyroi, which overlooks the glistening waters of Vananda and features a beautiful, all-white exterior.

Vananda Beach is accessible through a short dirt road from Diafani. The road is a bit rough but can be traversed by any kind of vehicle, while you can also choose to make the trip on foot, which should take you no more than 35 minutes. After spending time at the beach, you can head back to Diafani, which houses several restaurants, cafes, and accommodations.
