Karpathos Pigadia beach

General information

Stretching right to the left of Karpathos Port and the Archaeological Museum of Karpathos, Pigadia Beach lies just a few minutes from the town center. Though not the most enchanting beach on the island, it is still a good choice for those who do not want to move away from Pigadia. Fringed by cerulean waters which can get choppy on windy days, the beach is strewn with coarse sand, while the sea bottom is, at places, covered with large stones. For this reason, it might be a good idea to bring along a pair of water shoes.

Pigadia Beach is well-organized with umbrellas and sunbeds, while several taverns, cafes, bars and hotels can be found along the beach. This fact along with its proximity to the capital town makes Pigadia one of the busiest beaches in Karpathos; so, if you would rather avoid large crowds, all you have to do is walk north to Affoti.
