General information

The dreamy Philios Beach is located on the northeast coast of Karpathos, 37 km north of Pigadia and 13 km south of Olympos. It is also known as Agios Minas Beach, named after the charming church of Agios Minas that lies next to the beach. It boasts a mostly pebbly shore and beautiful, crystalline waters that are ideal for swimming.

The beach features a few sunbeds and umbrellas, but not very much else when it comes to amenities. There is a restaurant nearby that serves fresh seafood and refreshing drinks, as well as a parking area. Where Philios Beach shines, however, is in its scenic beauty, surrounded by impressive hills and an untamed natural environment and offering a quiet atmosphere away from busier tourist attractions.

Making the trip to Philios Beach can prove a bit challenging. Those coming from Pigadia must take the main road towards Olympos for about 33 km, then follow a rough dirt road that is almost 4 km long. The dirt track will lead you straight to the church of Agios Minas, which is worth a visit before heading to the majestic beach.
