Karpathos Papa Mina (Panorama) beach

General information

Located on the remote northern coast of Karpathos, around 4.5 kilometers from Diafani, Papa Mina is a secluded pebbly beach with crystalline light blue waters. Being surrounded by rugged cliffs, its defining features are its wild unspoilt beauty and its great views of the mountains and the picturesque village of Olympos. It is not organized and offers no tourist facilities whatsoever, so you will need to be equipped with all the necessary provisions, including food and plenty of water.

As the dirt road leading to the beach is in poor condition and can be very demanding for vehicles, Papa Mina Beach is best approached on foot through a nice hiking trail that starts from Diafani and takes around an hour and a half. At the same time, it is also possible to get there on one of the excursion boats which operate routes from Diafani Port on a regular basis. It is usually deserted and lends itself for relaxation, as you listen to the sounds of nature and gaze at the immensity of the sea.
